Joomla! is a spinoff project from the original Mambo CMS. While the developers from the two projects have gone in different directions with the software, the solid core and reliability of each application is comparable. New CMS users often find Joomla to be an easier content management system to start with compared to other CMS apps, perhaps because of its extensive support network and documentation.
